Re 'Wanted' – 'Unwanted Knitting Yarn':

Dear Guild Members, and Readers!

I just want to thank those who were so wonderful and generous to post our charity knitting group some kind donations in form of unwanted yarn. Your donations made a lot of people happy, and helped us to take care of our local birth centre's little angels. We are very grateful for this.

I'm not sure if any of you want to see their names here, if yes, please let me know, and I will post it here, as a list of our 'Heroines'. I will of course post you a personal thank you note, just to be sure that you will get informed we have received your donations, and we appreciate it very much!

Here's a timely reminder of what we say in our Guidelines for this service:

"The Knitting & Crochet Guild provides this service in good faith for the benefit of the knitting & crochet community worldwide. Anyone participating in it does so at their own risk and they should be aware that they may be contacted by people intending to defraud them."

We have been informed that recently a vendor here was advised to expect a cheque from the buyer's client for fifteen times more than the agreed selling price and asked to send a cheque for the difference to the buyer. Hello … ? The cheque our vendor received was fraudulent and worthless, obviously. But you wouldn't have been caught that way either, would you!

• Rowanspun Chunky Yarn

– I need 100g of Rowanspun chunky yarn (now discontinued) to complete a sweater. It is a red shade 992 lot 1C2. I live in Gloucestershire, so will collect if in the county.
