Convention:
This year's Convention promises to have something for everyone. For the more (possibly very
more) adventurous we are planning street theatre as part of Winchester's Hat Festival (www.hatfair.co.uk) and for those preferring a more peaceful time there will be a visit to Winchester Cathedral with special emphasis on the textile Collections (www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk). If there is enough interest we are also thinking of Butser Ancient Farm to
knap chalk to make a drop spindle and look at the way our ancestors wove and created textiles
(www.butser.org.uk). This will be on top of the usual events such as Show and Tell,
competition, keynote talk and of course the AGM itself on the Saturday morning. On Friday
afternoon Linda Newington will be happy to give us a special tour of her Collection. A full
programme will be issued later.
In the meantime the theme of the competition is "Pearl/Purl/Perle" (or any other spelling you can think of). There are no size restrictions. Please send any postal entries, by 1st July 2008 latest, to:

92 Meadow Rd, Droitwich, Worcs, WR9 9BZ
