Guild NewsDeskInternational Fiber Collaborative 2008The International Fiber Collaborative gave an opportunity to people who enjoy working with crafts, whether professional artists, hobbyists or students to come together all over the world to express our concerns towards our countries extreme dependency on oil for energy. Participators made 915mm x 915mm (3' x 3') fiber panels - by crochet/knit/stitch/patch/ or collage - that expressed each artist's view on this topic. Once all 800 panels that were needed had been received, they were sewn together to completely cover an abandoned gas station and gas pumps in central New York.
