Leighton-Linslade Living History Day – 11 October 2008

Photographs by Jane Barton

Leighton-Linslade Living History Day 2008

This year's 'Living History Day' had a medieval theme, so the castle came out again with garments Judith Morley had designed for her husband, one based on the West Front of York Minster.

I was amazed at how easy it was to make the knights' horses stand up. Jan Messent really is a genius. (I shall now be emboldened to do Henry VIII from the 'Knitted Historical Figures' book, that I have had for years)

The jester bootees come from Zoe Mellor's book '50 Bootees To Knit' and the jester cover form 'Toilet Roll Covers' by Pat Ashforth and Steve Plummer
